The amount of correction of tooth structure is limited in enameloplasty. At the same time, the normal tooth form and contour is maintained. It involves reducing the involved area whether it is occlusal in posterior teeth or incisal edge in the anterior region. Enamel is contoured using high speed tapered and diamond burs for reducing the enamel. After reducing it will be polished using a carborundum wheel or point burs. Finally, fluoride treatment is done for preventing caries and sensitivity in the reduced area. Usually, topical fluoride is applied. It is a simple and less time-consuming procedure.
